WHAT BUYERS NEED TO KNOW

A good enamel charm design must work as more than a flat image. Every color area needs a suitable boundary, small lettering must remain readable, and the metal outline must make sense at the finished charm size. The loop or attachment also needs to suit the bracelet, necklace or other piece in which the charm will be used.

HaoLustra can start with a brand logo, sketch, reference photo, vector artwork or existing sample. During design review, we help establish the details that matter to production:

  • Color areas and separation: identify each enamel-filled area and the metal lines between colors.
  • Scale and legibility: check narrow lines, small lettering and fine details at the intended finished size.
  • Outline and reverse: clarify shape, front-and-back appearance and any logo or engraving requirement.
  • Connection point: define where the loop, bail or jump-ring connection belongs and how the piece should hang.
  • Production reference: agree what needs to be confirmed in a drawing or sample before the bulk order.

If you do not have a technical drawing yet, send the design files you already have. We can review whether further artwork preparation, CAD work or tooling is needed before quotation and sampling. Exact design limits depend on the selected material, dimensions and production method.

02 / ENAMEL OPTIONS

Soft vs. Hard Enamel

Two surface directions. Confirm the look with a physical sample.

Illustrative concept comparing soft enamel visual texture, not a physical factory sample
SOFT ENAMEL

Recessed color

  • Visible raised metal outlines
  • Textured, dimensional look
Illustrative concept comparing hard enamel visual texture, not a physical factory sample
HARD ENAMEL

Smoother surface

  • More level color-and-metal finish
  • Polished visual direction

Illustrative enamel charm concepts, not actual factory samples. Final feasibility depends on artwork, dimensions and the agreed finish.

WHAT BUYERS NEED TO KNOW

HaoLustra supports both soft enamel and hard enamel charm projects. The right option depends on how you want the color-filled surface to look and feel, not simply on which term sounds more premium.

Soft Enamel Charms: Visible Metal Lines and Recessed Color

Soft enamel typically leaves the filled color areas slightly lower than the surrounding metal boundaries. That creates a tactile surface where raised outlines separate the colors. It can work well for bold brand icons, graphic motifs and designs where visible metal lines are part of the look.

Hard Enamel Charms: A Smoother, More Level Surface

Hard enamel is generally finished to produce a smoother, more level surface between the color and metal boundaries. It is worth considering when the collection calls for a polished, refined appearance. The exact surface result and available detailing must be reviewed against the chosen manufacturing specification.

How to Choose

Compare the two finishes against your artwork, target size, preferred metal color and intended retail positioning. Fine lines, narrow enamel areas and complex multi-color designs may need adjustment whichever option you choose. We recommend confirming the selected finish through an approved physical sample rather than relying on a screen image alone.

03 / COLOR & DETAILS

Make Brand Colors Work on Metal

Small graphic decisions can change the finished appearance.

Color reference

Use brand colors or physical references.

Metal borders

Check line width and separation.

Finish direction

Sample check

Approve color appearance in real material.

WHAT BUYERS NEED TO KNOW

For branded enamel charms, the difficult part is often not choosing an attractive color; it is keeping the intended look clear once color is placed inside metal boundaries. A small change to outline width, fill depth or metal tone can affect how a logo reads.

Color references. Share your brand palette, color codes or physical references where available. These guide development, but a digital color value is not a guarantee of an identical appearance on finished metal. The production sample should be the agreed visual reference.

Metal outlines. The metal edges between enamel sections help define letters, symbols and color blocks. Artwork with tiny gaps or very thin lines may need modification for the chosen process.

Plating and surface direction. The metal color surrounding enamel affects the overall result. Gold-tone, silver-tone or other requested finish directions can be reviewed against the base material and production route; final availability is confirmed during quotation.

Multi-color designs. More color areas, small separations and complex details can change tooling requirements, cost and the sampling plan. State the colors and visual priorities early, especially for branded collections or repeat orders.

The aim is to approve a real reference for the color-filled design before moving to volume production—not to promise that every screen color can be reproduced without variation.

04 / MATERIAL & MOQ

Choose Your Base Metal

Two material options, each with its own starting MOQ.

Brass enamel charms

50pcs / design

For logo motifs, small collection launches and custom designs.

Stainless steel enamel charms

200pcs / design

For stainless steel designs with enamel and approved attachments.

Starting MOQs apply per design. Color variations, tooling and packaging are quoted by specification; combining unrelated designs is not automatically permitted.
WHAT BUYERS NEED TO KNOW

HaoLustra offers custom enamel charm development using brass and stainless steel bases. Choose the material together with the enamel finish, metal appearance, attachment construction and quantity; not as a separate decision made after the artwork is finalized.

Custom Brass Enamel Charms — From 50 Pieces per Design

MOQ: 50 pieces per design. Different colors of the same design can be combined to reach 50 pieces; for example, 30 red and 20 green pieces of one brass charm design. Brass is a useful option for jewelry brands developing small custom charm runs, including logo charms, letter motifs and seasonal capsule collections. Final feasibility depends on the charm size, shaping, finish and design detail. Include the quantity for each color in your brief; changes in size or construction require separate review.

Custom Stainless Steel Enamel Charms — From 200 Pieces per Design

MOQ: 200 pieces per design. Different colors of the same design can be combined to reach 200 pieces; for example, 100 red and 100 blue pieces of one stainless steel charm design. Stainless steel is another available base-material option for custom enamel charms. Because design and finishing requirements differ by material, the proposed artwork, enamel method, metal color and connection structure should be reviewed together before confirming the specification.

These are material-specific starting MOQs, not a promise that unrelated designs or color variations can always be combined to meet one minimum. Packaging, special components and tooling may have separate requirements.

For broader material options, see custom brass jewelry manufacturing and low-MOQ jewelry manufacturing.

05 / COLLECTION IDEAS

Custom Logo Enamel Charms in Jewelry Collections

Develop enamel-filled motifs as loose components or as part of a finished jewelry collection.

Logo & brand tags

Brand marks, wordmarks and signatures.

Bracelet charms

Jump rings, hole placement and orientation.

Necklace accents

Bails, balance and hanging direction.

Coordinated sets

Matching motifs with fitting and weight checks.

WHAT BUYERS NEED TO KNOW

Custom logo jewelry charms can serve as recognizable design elements throughout a collection. Depending on the design, they can be supplied as loose components for later assembly or developed with the attachment required for the finished jewelry piece.

Brand and logo charms. Translate a graphic mark, wordmark or symbol into a metal-and-color design, with attention to legibility and metal border width.

Bracelet charms. Confirm whether the charm should attach through a jump ring or another connection, where the opening should sit, and how the charm will face when worn.

Necklace pendants and accent charms. Consider the intended hanging direction, bail position and visual balance with the chain or other components.

Earring and coordinated-set components. Review charm weight, dimensions, orientation and compatible findings when the same motif will appear across more than one jewelry category.

Seasonal and collection motifs. Holiday icons, initials, symbols and colorful motifs may need different color separations or attachments even when they belong to one coordinated range.

WHAT BUYERS NEED TO KNOW

Enamel charm sampling should answer specific production questions. Does the color arrangement work at the finished size? Are the metal borders clear? Is the surface appearance what the buyer expected? Will the charm attach and hang as intended?

For enamel charm projects, the approval process focuses on these checkpoints:

1. Artwork and color separation. Review the shape, filled areas, metal boundaries, logo details and intended dimensions.

2. Material and finish selection. Confirm brass or stainless steel, soft or hard enamel, metal color direction and attachment requirements.

3. Sample review. Evaluate the physical result for color appearance, outline definition, surface quality, scale and connection details.

4. Revision confirmation. Identify any requested changes before approving bulk production. Changes to tooling, color arrangements or construction may affect sample cost and timing.

5. Approved production reference. Confirm which sample and written specifications the order should follow, including packaging where applicable.

Sample charges, artwork preparation, molds and development times depend on the project. HaoLustra will review those requirements before they become order commitments.

08 / QUOTING DETAILS

What Changes Your Enamel Charm Quote?

There is no universal price for every artwork and finish.

Size & shape
Enamel colors
Metal finish
Molds & tooling
Loops & fittings
Quantity & packing
WHAT BUYERS NEED TO KNOW

The starting MOQ for a custom enamel charm depends first on its metal base: 50 pieces per design for brass or 200 pieces per design for stainless steel. Color variants of the same design can be counted together toward that minimum. A usable quote also needs to account for the actual artwork and order structure.

Pricing may be affected by the number of designs and colorways, charm dimensions, soft or hard enamel, fine-detail requirements, mold or tooling needs, plating or metal finish, connectors, packaging and total quantity. A small change to one of these can create a different production specification.

For a clear quotation, we will review:

  • Whether each design has its own artwork and tooling requirements.
  • Whether different enamel colors or metal finishes are separate variations.
  • Whether the order needs loose charms, attached components or assembled jewelry.
  • Whether packaging is shared across SKUs or customized by style.
  • Whether samples or design revisions are required before bulk production.

No fixed unit price, mold fee or production lead time applies to every design. Send your specifications so the quote reflects the product you actually intend to manufacture.

No fixed sample cost or lead time: the quote follows your design and order requirements.Request a Quote ↗

Final inspection criteria are project-specific; no universal zero-defect claim. More about jewelry quality control ↗

WHAT BUYERS NEED TO KNOW

A quality review for enamel charms should compare finished pieces with the approved sample and agreed specifications, with particular attention to color-filled areas and the metal boundaries around them.

Enamel fill. Check visible coverage, uneven filling, unwanted overflow and surface irregularities against the approved reference.

Color and outlines. Review noticeable differences in the approved colors, missing areas, border clarity and small graphic details.

Metal finish. Check the specified visible plating or metal appearance, including exposed edges and surrounding areas.

Attachments. Confirm loop placement, jump-ring or bail requirements, movement and the intended hanging direction.

Packing and quantities. Verify agreed quantities, style separation, labels and packaging presentation before shipment.

The inspection standard should be established for the individual project; no manufacturing process is accurately represented by a universal zero-defect promise. Learn more about HaoLustra’s jewelry quality-control approach.

11 / BUYER QUESTIONS

Custom Enamel Charm Manufacturing FAQs

Quick answers on MOQ, drawings, molds, colors, loose components, packaging and timing.

What is the minimum order quantity for custom enamel charms?

HaoLustra’s starting MOQ is 50 pieces per design for brass enamel charms and 200 pieces per design for stainless steel enamel charms. Different colors of the same design can be combined toward the relevant minimum. Design complexity, size or construction changes, special components and packaging are reviewed separately when confirming the order.

Can I use a JPG, logo or sketch instead of a production-ready vector file?

Yes. You can begin with a logo image, sketch, reference photo or other available artwork. We will review whether additional design preparation, a vector file or CAD details are needed before sampling.

Do I need a new mold for every enamel charm design?

Not every project follows the same tooling route. A new shape, metal outline, dimensions or construction may require new tooling. Changes limited to color can have different requirements. The necessary setup and any charges are confirmed after artwork review.

Can I order several enamel colors or designs together?

Yes. Different colors of the same design can be combined toward the MOQ: 50 pieces per brass design or 200 pieces per stainless steel design. This does not combine unrelated designs into one MOQ. Send the quantity by design and color; size changes, material changes and other construction differences require separate review.

Can the back of an enamel charm include our logo?

A reverse-side logo, marking or other detail can be considered. Available space, charm thickness, metal base and the chosen production method determine whether the requested detail is feasible and readable.

Can I buy loose enamel charms for my own jewelry assembly?

Yes. Tell us whether you need loose components or charms prepared with loops, jump rings or other attachments. The connection specification should match the way you plan to assemble the final jewelry product.

What happens if I want to change the enamel colors after sample approval?

Tell us which colors are changing and whether the metal outline or artwork also needs to change. A revision may require a new sample, an updated approval reference or additional charges. The effect on the order is reviewed before proceeding.

Can HaoLustra help with private-label packaging for enamel charms?

Yes. We can review cards, pouches, boxes, labels and other presentation requirements alongside the charm order. Packaging specifications, minimum quantities and costs depend on the selected format. Explore our custom jewelry packaging options.

How long does custom enamel charm sampling and bulk production take?

Lead times depend on artwork readiness, material choice, soft or hard enamel, tooling, sample revisions, order quantity and packaging requirements. Share your target date when requesting a quote so a project-specific schedule can be discussed.
