OEM & ODM Jewelry Manufacturing for Brands
Your designs, or an existing style adapted for your brand—HaoLustra helps you choose the right production route.
HaoLustra is a B2B jewelry manufacturing partner operating its own factory in Qingdao, China. We work with jewelry brands, retailers, wholesalers, ecommerce businesses and sourcing teams on OEM jewelry manufacturing and ODM jewelry development. Bring an original design or approved sample for production, or explore existing styles that can be adjusted for your collection. We help review materials, finishes, development requirements, sample approval, order quantities, packaging and quality checkpoints before a bulk order is confirmed.
Whether you are building your first small collection or preparing an established range for repeat orders, the goal is the same: a product specification you understand and a manufacturing plan your team can approve.

HELP YOUR TEAM CHOOSE
What Is the Difference Between OEM and ODM Jewelry Manufacturing?
OEM jewelry manufacturing starts with the brand’s design or agreed specification. ODM jewelry manufacturing begins with an existing or ready-to-adjust design direction. Both routes can result in jewelry sold under your brand, but they differ in how development begins, which details can be changed, how much tooling may be required and what must be approved before production.
| Decision point | OEM jewelry | ODM jewelry |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | Your sketch, drawings, CAD file, technical brief or physical reference sample | Available styles or a design direction that can be selected and adapted |
| Product differentiation | Useful when specific dimensions, structure or styling matter to your brand | Useful when existing product structures meet your needs and selected details can be adjusted |
| Development work | Feasibility review, technical details and potentially new tooling or samples | Selection and evaluation of permitted changes, often with less work on the underlying structure |
| Typical decisions | Dimensions, components, construction, finish, logo, production requirements | Style selection, finish, component variations, branding and packaging |
| MOQ and cost | Confirmed from your design, processes, materials, tooling and quantity | Confirmed from the selected style, changes, materials, finish and order plan |
| Design rights | Contract-specific: clarify original files, molds, usage and exclusivity | Contract-specific: do not assume an adjusted existing design is exclusive |
The better route depends on the product—not on which acronym sounds more advanced. An established brand may use OEM for a signature pendant and ODM for complementary basics. A new brand may use an available style for initial market testing, then consider a more distinctive custom design once demand is clearer. Any combined program needs a quantity and feasibility review for each style.

Which Manufacturing Route Fits Your Jewelry Brand?
Choose OEM when the design itself matters
OEM is a practical starting point when your team already has a distinctive shape, specific chain or clasp construction, a CAD file, target measurements, branding requirements, or an existing sample to reproduce to an agreed specification.
What to send: your design or reference, target dimensions, intended material and finish, details of any stones or components, quantity by style and target schedule. A finished CAD file is not always required for an initial discussion; HaoLustra first determines what technical information is still missing.
What HaoLustra helps clarify: which parts of the design are ready to sample, what needs a dimensional or structural decision, whether special tooling may be needed, what a sample should demonstrate, and which specification will guide production.
Choose ODM when you want a starting design to adapt
ODM is worth considering when you know your customer, price position and collection style but do not need to design every product from the beginning. You can discuss suitable available products, then review possible changes such as finish, color direction, selected components, chain or pendant options, logo treatment and packaging. The extent of modification depends on the style and production method.
What to send: example styles, customer profile, materials or finishes you prefer, target price positioning, the number of styles, quantities and branding requirements.
What HaoLustra helps clarify: which existing directions may fit, what can realistically be changed, whether revised samples are required and how the selected options affect MOQ and cost.
Use a mixed approach if different SKUs have different roles
Your collection does not have to be entirely OEM or entirely ODM. You can discuss one original hero product alongside simpler supporting styles. HaoLustra reviews the designs and quantities style by style rather than promising that unrelated materials, colors or products automatically share one minimum.
MANUFACTURING SUPPORT
What OEM and ODM Services Does HaoLustra Provide?
HaoLustra connects product-development decisions with manufacturing work at its Qingdao jewelry factory. The service is more than selecting a design label: it is checking how your proposed jewelry can be specified, sampled, produced, inspected and reordered.
Design and production-route review
We review sketches, drawings, reference images, existing samples and product briefs. For OEM work, we identify important measurements, components and manufacturing decisions. For ODM work, we review available style directions and the changes the project may support. Original development inspired by references is assessed as a new project; copying protected designs or brand marks is not the intended service.
Product categories and collection planning
Projects can involve necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, charms, pendants, coordinated jewelry sets and selected stainless steel or plated fashion-jewelry styles. For multi-SKU collections, confirm which specifications and quantities apply to each style rather than treating the entire assortment as one uniform product.
Material, component and finish review
HaoLustra can discuss product-appropriate base materials and finishes such as stainless steel, brass, copper or selected alloys, with gold-tone, silver-tone, rose-gold-tone, polished, matte or other suitable finishes. The actual options depend on the product and manufacturing route. Plating color, decorative details, clasp type, earring findings and surface appearance should be recorded in the agreed brief. No general hypoallergenic, waterproof or tarnish-proof performance should be assumed without product-specific evidence.
Sampling and revision coordination
We discuss the physical sample, the scope of any design or technical development, required review points and revisions before the project proceeds. A concept image, CAD drawing and approved physical sample do different jobs. The physical sample is the practical reference for appearance, construction, size, finish and wear-related details before bulk approval.
Production, finishing and inspection
HaoLustra’s Qingdao operation supports jewelry production, surface finishing and pre-shipment inspection. Before bulk production, the project should define the relevant finish, dimensions, components, logo position, quality checkpoints and packaging requirements. Specialized materials or processes may be coordinated according to project needs; not every operation is claimed to be 100% in-house.
Branding, packaging and repeat orders
Depending on the product and packaging requirements, logo treatment, jewelry cards, boxes, pouches, labels and inserts can be coordinated with the manufacturing plan. Approved specifications can provide a reference for repeat orders and collection expansion. Packaging options have their own MOQ, cost and production requirements.

MANUFACTURING SUPPORT
From a Design Brief to an Approved Jewelry Production Plan
Every OEM or ODM order should make the buyer’s next decision clear. HaoLustra reviews the route and project details before discussing a final sample, production schedule and quotation.
1. Share your design or collection direction
Send a sketch, CAD file, approved sample, reference image or selected style direction. Include intended product categories, quantities per style, target market and packaging requirements. You receive: a clearer list of product details that need review.
2. Review OEM or ODM suitability
We discuss whether the project should follow an existing design, an adapted style or a custom manufacturing specification. Construction, material, finish and available development options are checked. You receive: a proposed development route and outstanding questions.
3. Confirm development costs and sample scope
Before work starts, clarify whether the project involves design services, technical drawings, new molds, components, physical samples, finish trials or changes. Review how any revision or sample-fee credit would apply. You receive: project-specific cost and sample requirements to approve.
4. Review and revise the physical sample
Compare the sample with the brief: dimensions, appearance, component function, finish, logo placement and packaging fit. Record requested changes against a version or checklist; structural redesign and new tooling should be considered separately from minor visual amendments. You receive: a documented approval or a defined revision request.
5. Confirm MOQ, pricing and approved specifications
Confirm the order unit by design, finish, size and set components. Agree the approved reference, materials, packaging details, quantities, production timing and appropriate quality checks. You receive: a confirmed order basis, subject to the agreed commercial terms.
6. Manufacture, inspect and prepare reorders
Bulk production follows the approved project requirements. Review appearance, dimensions, clasp function, finish, branding, quantity and packaging as applicable before shipment. Preserve the approved references for repeat orders, while confirming any changes to materials or quantity on the next run. You receive: a clearer basis for inspection and later replenishment.

BUYER QUESTIONS
MOQ for OEM and ODM Jewelry: Styles, Finishes, Pairs and Sets
There is no one-size-fits-all MOQ for OEM or ODM jewelry. HaoLustra’s published working reference for selected projects can begin at around 50 pieces per style, but the actual requirement depends on design, material, manufacturing process, finish, packaging and the total order plan. An OEM design needing new tooling may have a different minimum from an adaptable existing style.
A useful quotation separates what is being ordered from how it is counted:
- By style: one pendant design may not share the same MOQ as another design.
- By variation: a silver-tone finish and a gold-tone finish may require separate planning.
- By size: ring sizes or chain lengths may change the production split.
- By earrings: confirm whether quantities are counted as individual pieces or pairs.
- By set: a necklace, earrings and bracelet sold together may contain separate product components, each with its own manufacturing requirement.
- By packaging: boxes and branded cards may have a different MOQ from the jewelry itself.
Example: a three-piece jewelry set. If a brand asks for “50 sets” containing one necklace, one pair of earrings and one bracelet, that means the buyer wants 50 sellable sets. It does not automatically mean HaoLustra can manufacture all three components at a single MOQ of 50. The project needs a written confirmation of the required units, styles, finishes, packaging and any component-specific minimums.
What HaoLustra asks for: a SKU list with style, material, finish, size, set components, desired units and packing method. This is the most reliable starting point for discussing a low-MOQ or mixed-style first order.

BUYER QUESTIONS
OEM and ODM Jewelry Costs: What Should Be Included in a Quote?
Compare the complete project cost, not only the bulk unit price. OEM and ODM may involve different levels of development, but neither term by itself determines the final price.
Your project quotation may need to separate:
- Design development: review or revision work, where applicable.
- CAD or technical preparation: only when required for the specific product; confirm deliverables and rights.
- Molds and tooling: whether anything new is needed, what it costs and its future use.
- Physical samples: material, components, finish, assembly and sample shipping.
- Revisions: which design-review changes are included and what triggers a new charge or a new sample.
- Bulk manufacturing: base material, finish, component, quantity and production requirements.
- Logo and packaging: separate artwork, printing, branding, packaging or packing costs.
- Shipping and logistics: destination, mode, packaging dimensions and applicable charges.
HaoLustra reviews which items apply to the proposed design and the actual order. Some qualified sample-development costs may be credited against a subsequent production order only where the agreed project terms provide for it; this should never be assumed or treated as a universal refund.
For brands comparing options, ask for an itemized quotation with each optional service clearly marked. That makes an OEM/ODM decision much easier than comparing two unsupported “price per piece” figures.
BUYER QUESTIONS
Common Buyer Concerns—and How HaoLustra Addresses Them
BUYER QUESTIONS · 01
“I only have a reference photo. Can I start?”
Yes, for an initial feasibility discussion. Send the reference, product purpose, material direction, approximate dimensions, your own changes and target quantity. HaoLustra can discuss which information is missing and what development work may be required. A reference image is not permission to copy another brand’s protected design; original details need their own development review.
BUYER QUESTIONS · 02
“How can I avoid paying for development work I don’t understand?”
Separate the stages before you approve them. HaoLustra can review which costs relate to design work, technical files, tooling, physical samples, finishes and production. Ask for a written scope and revision terms before authorizing paid work.
BUYER QUESTIONS · 03
“Are five revisions included?”
The applicable design-revision arrangement must be confirmed in the project agreement. Where a five-round design-revision scope has been agreed, it concerns the specified design-review work. It does not automatically include five new physical samples, repeated mold making, major material substitutions or unlimited engineering changes. Request a versioned list of changes so both sides know when a revision round is complete.
BUYER QUESTIONS · 04
“Will the production order match the approved sample?”
Use an approved physical sample and a written specification as the production reference. HaoLustra can review size, metal/finish direction, component function, logo placement, packaging and applicable pre-shipment checks. Changes in raw materials, finishes or components should be discussed before a reorder or production change is confirmed; no production run should be described as guaranteed zero-variation.
BUYER QUESTIONS · 05
“Could my original design be reused or disclosed?”
Clarify usage and confidentiality before sharing sensitive files. Discuss who provides the original design, what may be used for development, who may access the technical files and whether confidentiality or exclusivity terms are required. Ownership of CAD files, molds, original artwork and adapted designs depends on the written arrangement, not on the OEM/ODM label alone.
BUYER QUESTIONS · 06
“Will a low MOQ force me to launch too many variations?”
Start with a realistic SKU plan. HaoLustra can review quantities by design, finish, size and set component. Consider which products are your signature pieces and which might be adapted from available styles; the feasibility of combining quantities is decided per project, not promised in advance.
BUYER QUESTIONS · 07
“How do I plan launch timing if samples need changes?”
Confirm separate development milestones. The review, optional technical work, sample, revision, bulk production and shipping stages each have different dependencies. HaoLustra discusses a project-specific schedule once design and quantities are clear. Avoid treating an early target date as an unconditional manufacturing guarantee.
SPECIFICATIONS BEFORE BULK
What to Approve Before Jewelry Bulk Production
A clear sample-to-bulk reference is one of the most useful ways to reduce misunderstandings. Before authorizing production, record:
- Design version or approved physical sample reference.
- Main measurements, weight or fit requirements where relevant.
- Base material, finish direction and any product-specific requirements.
- Clasps, chains, earrings findings, stone or decorative components.
- Logo artwork, application method and placement.
- Quantities per style, size, finish, earring pair and jewelry set.
- Packaging format, labeling and inserts.
- Inspection checkpoints, acceptable criteria and responsibilities as agreed.
- Delivery and reorder notes, including which changes would require reapproval.
HaoLustra’s Qingdao production support includes surface finishing, jewelry manufacturing and pre-shipment quality review. Approved specifications should help connect the first sample to repeat production, rather than leaving the factory to infer the details from a reference photograph.

SPECIFICATIONS BEFORE BULK
Why Work With HaoLustra for OEM/ODM Jewelry?
HaoLustra’s advantage is a clearer route from early product decisions to an approved and repeatable production order. Our team supports international B2B buyers who need a practical way to move between custom development and available designs without treating every inquiry like a ready-stock purchase.
- A Qingdao jewelry factory behind the project. HaoLustra operates its own manufacturing facility, with relevant production, finishing and pre-shipment quality review activities.
- Both OEM and ODM starting points. Bring your own design or discuss available styles and feasible modifications rather than forcing every product through the same process.
- Practical collection and MOQ planning. We review materials, styles, finishes, quantities, sample requirements and branded packaging together, while confirming the actual minimum by project.
- Development before production commitment. Discuss the design brief, physical sample, pricing scope and required approvals before a bulk order is confirmed.
- Specification-led quality and repeat orders. Approved dimensions, finishes, components, logos and packaging provide clearer reference points for production checks and later replenishment.
We do not assume every jewelry idea is immediately manufacturable, every ODM base style is exclusive, or every order qualifies for one universal MOQ. That is why the project review comes first.
BUYER QUESTIONS
OEM & ODM Jewelry Manufacturing FAQs
Can my jewelry brand combine OEM and ODM products in one collection?
You can discuss a collection that includes both original custom designs and adapted existing styles. HaoLustra reviews each design, finish, quantity and sample requirement separately. A mixed collection does not automatically share one MOQ or a single development fee.
Can I begin without a CAD file?
Yes. A sketch, written idea, reference image or existing physical sample can be enough to begin a project discussion. HaoLustra reviews what dimensions, technical drawings, CAD work or other information may be needed before physical sampling. A concept rendering is not the same as a production-ready CAD file.
Can HaoLustra develop an original design inspired by references?
You can share references and explain what you like about their style or structure. HaoLustra can assess a custom development direction using your own changes and requirements. We do not recommend direct copying of protected designs, logos or other branded elements.
For a necklace, earrings and bracelet set, does an MOQ of 50 mean 50 complete sets?
Not automatically. The production units must be defined for every component, including whether earrings are counted as pairs, whether each design and finish has its own requirement, and whether the items will be packed as a set. HaoLustra confirms the applicable MOQ after reviewing the project.
Can sample fees be credited against a bulk manufacturing order?
For certain qualified follow-up orders, sample development fees may be credited where the agreed terms allow. The amount, eligibility, deadline and treatment of other charges must be confirmed before development begins.
How many jewelry design revisions are included?
Revision scope is agreed for each project. A five-round design-review arrangement may apply where it has been specifically included in the agreed terms; this is not automatically five free physical resamples or mold remakes. Major structural, material or tooling changes are reviewed separately.
How long does OEM or ODM development take before bulk production?
The schedule depends on whether you start with an existing style or a new design, and on the material, CAD or tooling needs, components, sample approvals, revisions, quantities and packaging. HaoLustra discusses separate sample and bulk-production timelines after reviewing the brief rather than promising one fixed number for all products.
Can HaoLustra sign an NDA or confirm design exclusivity?
You can raise confidentiality, file-access and exclusivity requirements before submitting sensitive work. Whether a specific NDA, CAD-file delivery, mold ownership or exclusive-use arrangement can be agreed is subject to review and the written project contract. No blanket exclusivity is implied by OEM or ODM status.
